Bereavement Leave

The school provides paid bereavement leave for employees to attend to personal and family arrangements surrounding the death of a family member. Paid Time Off (PTO) should be used to attend funeral services for non-family members.

Three paid days of bereavement leave will be granted for immediate family (spouse, children, parents, siblings, parent-in-laws or grandparents). One paid day of bereavement leave will be granted to attend a funeral service for other family members. 

If more time is needed for the death of a spouse or child, the school will work with the employee and may grant additional bereavement leave, with the approval of the HOS.
